About the Client
Razz Golf is a long-running gentlemen's golf competition platform that organizes weekly Tuesday and Thursday tournaments across the Denver metro from May through October. Now in its 16th season, Razz runs handicap-flighted competitions across multiple scoring formats (gross/net stroke play, gross/net skins) on partner courses including Willis Case and Overland Park. The membership is open to all skill levels regardless of club affiliation — players who want competitive structure without the cost or exclusivity of private-club membership.
01 / The Challenge

before us.
Off-the-shelf event registration tools (Eventbrite, Meetup, generic WordPress plugins) all break down at the same place: they assume a flat one-time event with one ticket type. Razz runs a season-long calendar with handicap-based flights, multiple scoring formats per event, partner-course coordination, recurring player rosters, and an admin workflow that exists nowhere except in the operator's head. Trying to bend a generic plugin to fit Razz's reality created friction at every weekly event — manual workarounds for registration, manual exports for scoring, manual coordination for partner-course tee sheets. The platform needed to operate at the speed and complexity of real tournament operations, not at the speed of a calendar widget.
